Who will play Cuomo in the movie on the coronavirus pandemic? Here's the governor's pick
Actor Robert De Niro was in the Catskills to introduce Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the Catskill Challenge, a series of outdoor events meant to promote the mountain range.
幸运飞艇4码选号技巧ALBANY - No, Brad Pitt will play Dr. Anthony Fauci whenever the movie is made on the coronavirus pandemic, Stephen Colbert told Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday night.
Instead, Cuomo had to come up with another famous actor when asked by the late-night talk show host.
幸运飞艇4码选号技巧His friend and fellow New Yorker: the legendary Robert De Niro.
Colbert suggested the Goodfellas actor
"De Niro, I am a big De Niro fan. He is just phenomenal. The breadth of his ability," Cuomo responded.
"I mean just look at all the roles he's played. He can do anything, right? Deer Hunter, Cape Fear, he can do comedy. How about Taxi Driver?
幸运飞艇4码选号技巧De Niro, a critic of President Donald Trump, also likes the idea of playing Cuomo.
A night before on Colbert's show, De Niro said that if Fauci is taken, "I guess I'll play Cuomo...He's doing what a president should do."
Cuomo and De Niro have had a close relationship.
De Niro, the Manhattan native, has to promote New York, and De Niro in 2016 helped Cuomo kick off the inaugural Catskill Summer Challenge in Sullivan County, where he has a home.
De Niro even launched into a series of Borscht Belt-style one liners to promote the Catskills.
The actor has been a fan of Cuomo's.
Colbert and De Niro discussed the possibility of Cuomo running for president.
幸运飞艇4码选号技巧"I'm for (presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe) Biden, and I want everything to go well with Biden," De Niro said.
幸运飞艇4码选号技巧"But at least we have a person who's a very capable backup if you will. Not vice president, but if something would change, which God forbid nothing will change, he's doing a great job."
The Colbert appearance was the latest late-show stop幸运飞艇4码选号技巧 for Cuomo, who has appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
Cuomo joked that at his next press conference, he'll do a Taxi Driver impersonation.
"The next press conference when a reporter asks me a question, you talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Oh boy, that would be a treat," Cuomo laughed.
"I'm a big De Niro fan. He's a genius. He's a genius."
And if you're wondering: The last time Cuomo was played by an actor?
It was by Sopranos star Michael Imperioli in the Showtime series Escape from Dannemora in 2018.
